A final word on what Duncan Hunter’s position should be on Guard and Reserve educational benefits:
Conservative values woul dictate that State entities should "kick a little in" for the Guardman and Reservist so we do not have add burden to our tax base.
Under Duncan Hunter’s tenure on the “Armed Services Committee”, pay, pride, and quality of life for our troops increased. Pay for our Volunteer force is very good.
Guard and Reserve educational benefits are not equitable when compared to their Active Duty counterparts, even though; the Guard and Reserve perform 50 percent of the mission on terror!
All State legislatures should consider providing free (Time sensitive) tuition for Guardsmen and Reservists that have been activated for “Iraq freedom” and the “War on Terror”. This only reflects Revenue not gained from State Universities versus added military budget. Simply put this is an “Earned chair in the classroom", for our Patriots. This will also enhance "post Iraqi Freedom "retention in our Guard and Reserve.
Guardsmen and Reservists from every state in the Union have served at a high level against terror since 1990. Their efforts have benefited every state in the Union. It is only right that states return the favor, and provide that “Earned chair in the classroom ”.
