Secretary Robert Gates will speak to the attendees of the International United States Special Operations Conference tonight at 7 p.m. EDT. This conference brings together Special Operations leaders from around the world to discuss topics unique to SOF communities. Media who would like to be present at the speech should arrive at the Tamps Convention Center at 6 p.m. EDT. Deputy Secretary of Defense Gordon England has no public or media events on his schedule.

Pentagon Press Secretary Geoff Morrell will conduct a press briefing at 1 p.m. EDT in the DoD Briefing Room, Pentagon 2E579. Journalists without a Pentagon building pass will be picked up at the North Parking Entrance only. Plan to arrive no later than 45 minutes prior to the event; have proof of affiliation and two forms of photo identification. Please call (703) 697-5131 for escort into the building.
