Based on the number of responses to the article of Mr. John Kurowski (1), it appears there is a big wave of support for the national sales tax (NST). I beg to differ with the "enlightened" and frustrated Americans who are parroting the establishment, and touting the NST as the "silver bullet" of freedom.
I also felt it appropriate to explain just why it will be difficult to "budge" much of the patriot movement into the NST "camp."
Because the Internet has made it very easy for information to move, more than ever people understand there is NO compulsory tax on wages (income) and never has been. The current system is totally VOLUNTARY (otherwise it WOULD be unconstitutional). Every IRS commissioner through they years has agreed with that, and has said publicly, "ours is a system of voluntary self assessment and compliance" or "this system is not based on distraint," or etc. As such, the truly enlightened are discovering the "loopholes" that are available for them to simply "drop out" of the system.
Unfortunately for both big government and their banker Masters, a growing number of Americans are doing just that! Panicking for ways to guarantee repayment on the loans they have outstanding to the banks, government is seeking ways to "close the loopholes." If many more wage earners opt out, the system will be gone.
The fact is that our income tax is already on a slippery slope. They (the IRS and government insiders) know it. Most NST promoters among the sheeple haven't been given that important information, however.
The NST would be imposed on domestic articles of consumption, and would not be voluntary as is our current system. If you want to buy, you will pay this proposed tax. Where many people have dropped out of the current system, this new "net" would scoop them back up, as well as preclude any more "drop outs."
Also, many people realize the "mark of the beast" (social security number) is likewise a "voluntary" thing they can opt out of. Hence, many thousands of people "choose not to volunteer" any longer. (2) Christians are banding together, employing each other (outside of corporations and even churches that "require" it). Congress has even exempted itself from Social Security tax (FICA)!
Consistent with their fears of not being able to track every federal reserve note in circulation, Congress is cranking up new ways to prevent hidden transactions such as tying the SSN to driver's licenses, and imposing new "requirements" for "the mark" under the guise of "Homeland Security."
As more and more people drop out of the system, collapse is inevitable. This is causing chaos. The New World Order is quickly losing control, and this threatens to set their world government plans back perhaps two centuries if the anti-tax movement continues on its current course.
Those seeking to escape income taxation should learn from those in the trenches. They will then see how unwise it is to adopt a new (non-voluntary) mode of taxation. Simply allowing this one to die a natural death is the best way to force government back inside its constitutional chains. To eliminate excessive taxation we just eliminate the need for it. Reducing the size of the federal government is the only answer.(3)
Accountability can be restored: it simply demands an annually balanced budget, each year, as the money is spent. (No deficit spending!) Here again, there is no need to create any amendment to the Constitution. The power to fund a legitimate national government is perfectly provided for: with revenue, interest-free coinage and manpower, within the existing Constitution.
What America now perceives as a direct tax actually is not. The direct tax as enumerated in the Constitution (Article 1, § 9, Cl. 4) is a tax on STATE governments whereby each state would take from its own treasury a percentage (based on its voting strength in Congress) of the total needed to fund any cost over-runs in the national budget.
A bill is to be sent to each state, in the year the money is needed, to balance the stupid federal budget. Maryland, for example, with 8 members of Congress would get a bill for 8/435 of the total needed. North Dakota would only pay 1/435; while NY and CA and the larger states would pay proportionately more based on their electoral (number in Congress) voting strength. (4)
Of course, imposing a direct tax on the states would IMMEDIATELY expose the extent of the problem. It would compel the state legislatures across America to hold their Senators accountable for the spending (which they should be doing now anyway (5)). Most likely, the state capitols would be vacated as those officials brought copious quantities of tar, feathers, pitchforks, shackles and chains with them on their march to Washington DC. The overspending would come to a screeching halt, and taxation would drop accordingly. There would be 100 new inmates in state prisons across America (folks currently addressed as "The Gentleman/woman from ...").
Not many people know or understand this direct taxing power, because it has been over a century (prior to the creation of the current income tax) since it was used. But indeed it has been used, many times, to fund necessary expenses at the federal level. John Kurowski and the late Edward Ellison, Jr. were the two patriots who dug the information out of the dusty history books about this nearly forgotten power to balance the stupid federal budget. They documented times in history it was used (generally only after a war), and published a book entitled "Prosperity Restored by the State Rate Tax" about it back in the middle 1980's. They then coined a name for promoting the concept which was the "Fair Share Method." This name is based on the fact that each state is required to pay its fair share (and not a penny more) of the total needed to balance the stupid federal budget in the year the money is spent!
Much of this research was done in response to another establishment movement that grabbed attention and ill-educated people as trumpeters. Using a "Balanced Budget Amendment" as the rallying cry, "conservative" groups nearly succeeded in opening up the Constitution for radical surgery via an Article V Constitutional Convention. Once it became obvious that Congress has it completely within its power to tax at the water's edge & to impose a direct tax on the states when necessary (i.e. to balance the stupid federal budget), the states pushing for a convention and/or this fraudulent Balanced Budget Amendment were thwarted. (6)
Now the conniving, big tax, big spenders have stolen the "fair" name, and have applied "Fair Tax" to a concept that is not, under the most gross misapplication of the adjective, "fair" to anyone!
The fact is, the IRS is LOSING consistently in Federal court. Though not reported in the major media news, it is costing them terribly to win perhaps over 50 cents on the dollar. Of course, each year about April a few people get "raided" or arrested by the IRS, and those stories make the front page. The goal is to scare people away from the front lines in the true patriot battlefield. What doesn't get reported is the outcome of those cases.
Vernice Kuglin received a bill for money (over & $900,000 untaxed earnings) from the IRS and was indicted for felony tax evasion and willful failure to file. She asked the IRS to show her, in writing, where she was required to pay it. The US Attorney demanded the judge order her to file and pay. The judge reminded the US Attorney he was not an employee of the IRS. Case dismissed. (7)
On and on it goes. And desperate to create a new way to fleece the public, those who are uneducated about how to drop out of the system, along with those who fear government, are jumping on the bandwagon to avoid income taxation. Many are being duped into supporting the so-called "fair" sales tax.
The national sales tax makes sense to:
Accounting firms. Instead of once a year paperwork, now retail and other businesses will need monthly, weekly or even daily accounting help based on the dollar volume of transactions.
Banks. Point of sale transactions make it simple for electronic (EFT) transfers into their accounts. Since it is the Federal Reserve that directly receives these payments anyway, this would "cut out the middleman" (IRS).
Those currently "obligated" to pay income tax. Defined, that is officers of corporations, elected officials, and those granted government privileges from which true income is derived. They don't want to be the only ones left paying! (8)
Those who think they are required. That makes up the bulk of the "wage earners" including stock boys, salesmen, carpenters, etc.
Those who have rescinded their social security numbers and/or otherwise "dropped out" of the system seem to realize that to impose a federal tax at the point of sale would legalize yet another form of oppressive taxation, while failing to address the root of the problem (which is overspending by government).
Those true to American ideals support the reduction in profligate spending. Anything less is simply a new way to collect large sums of money to support government run amok. We need to enforce the Constitution as written not be taxed to death (via any means) to prop up spending for the welfare state.
In summary, many patriots DO support the current income tax, at least at some level. (Of course the movement also loathes the collection procedures, persecution, lies and deceit surrounding it.) I (for one) feel everyone should pay what they are required by law to pay but not a penny more! If you volunteer to pay what you are NOT required by law to pay, then you are a MODEL citizen-robot-voter-taxpayer, but you still need to educate yourself, and to stand for what is right.
When enough company owners do as Al Thompson has done, and enough wage earners do what Vernice Kuglin did, (and hundreds and thousands more), then both the income tax, and the spending programs that benefit by it, will cease. There simply isn't enough jail space to hold the entire nation, and juries after learning the truth are handing down "not guilty" verdicts.
Congress will eventually be compelled to return to constitutional water's edge taxation on foreigners wanting the privilege of reaching the American Marketplace, and both GATT and NAFTA will likewise be history lessons in how NOT to run America. That is, unless people refuse to listen to reason about the poison of the NST.
The America revolution was started by a tea party, and opposition to oppressive taxation. We have a tax-revolt-ripe history in this nation. In box number one there is a rattlesnake (income tax). In box number two is a cobra (NST). Which would you prefer to be bitten by? Reach your hand in either you prefer. Oppressive taxation, in any form, is STILL oppressive taxation!
Tis error alone that needs the support of government (and agents and judges and lawyers). Truth stands on its own.
