Col. North - I wholehearted agree with your view on the the subject of having to use our "stimulas" check for petro. I, like the rest of Americans, will deposit the check, and use it as see fit. President Bush had a great idea, but needless to say, Congree FUBAR'ed it, again. |

The religious right, a cornerstone of the so-called Reagan revolution -- the battle over abortion law, and gay marriage -- wants a change.
At least some evangelicals do.
A group of influential Christian leaders are declaring they are tired of divisive politics, tired of watching fights over some issues trump all the good they could be doing.

Senator John McCain, the presumptive Republican nominee, is struggling to attract money from some of the same industries that helped bankroll President George W. Bush's record-setting fundraising.
Employees from the securities, construction, pharmaceutical and energy industries, who accounted for about a tenth of Bush's money in 2004, are turned off by his record and giving more to his Democratic rivals, Senators Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama.

America has learned that the road to stabilizing Iraq and virtually the entire Middle East runs through Tehran. Unfortunately, neither America nor Israel have learned that a defensive military strategy based on containment cannot stop an aggressive, ideological enemy committed to conquest - unless that enemy believes that its very existence is at stake and, if history is any guide, not even then. |
